Ayurvedic Massage Therapy
Experience a unique therapeutic massage that works with the principles of India’s ancient healing system, Ayurveda, to bring balance to your body and mind.
After a brief consultation you will enjoy a personally tailored massage specific to your individual constitution. Working on pressure points, chakras and using special oils, techniques and pressures, an Ayurvedic massage will leave you refreshed, energized and feeling totally relaxed.
Our Ayurvedic Massage therapist studied Ayurvedic massage at the College of Ayurveda in London. Our therapist has an FHT Accredited Diploma in Lymphatic Drainage Massage, is trained in Ayurvedic and Holistic massage (ITEC), Lymphatic Drainage Massage (FHT) and is a member of the Complementary Therapists Association.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
This is a very gentle and effective massage treatment that stimulates the Lymphatic System and helps to increase lymphatic flow. A range of specialized and gentle rhythmic pumping techniques is used to move the skin in the direction of the lymph flow.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a highly effective way to clear blockages, eliminate excess fluid, detox the body and stimulate vital immune defenses. Transports nutrients to cells, and so increases your metabolic efficiency.
It also has a calming effect on the nervous system and the treatment is deeply relaxing.
It is a very successful beauty treatment for the face, improving the appearance of the skin and reducing puffiness. It helps rejuvenate collagen fibers and slow the ageing process.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage can be used for:
- Toxic build up
- Reduces water retention (e.g. puffy ankles, legs, eyes, bloating)
- Cellulite and excess weight
- Glandular fever, ME (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome)
- Constipation and digestive disorders
- Balancing hormones (PMS/PMT)
- Migraine, sinus trouble, hay fever
- Acne and other skin conditions, scar tissue (old and new)
- Arthritis and rheumatism
- Stress, anxiety, tension
- Recurring infection: cold, flu, ear, chest
- Pre & Post operative surgery where lymph nodes have been removed or the lymphatic system has become impaired in some way
Sports Massage Therapy
Sports Massage is the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, ligaments and tendons. To benefit from a sports massage you do not need to be sporty! Sports massage is a no-nonsense approach that deals directly and efficiently with the soft tissues and is so-called simply because it's effective; deep-tissue techniques are popular with sports people. However we all have challenges – physical, mental and emotional, so it is entirely appropriate that we give our bodies the same quality of treatment. Regardless of your experiences in sport or exercise, whether you work in an office or compete to an international level, the treatment is designed around your specific needs. You can expect a tailor-made session every time, whether you have an injury to treat or just need to relax.
Sports Massage Therapy at Wellbeing follows a holistic approach: treating the body and mind as a whole to find the root causes of problems and preventing their reoccurrence.
Nutritional Therapy
Positive changes to diet shows the positive impact good, healthy, tasty food and nutrition can have on health and wellbeing.
Nutritional therapy is a holistic approach to health, concentrating on you as an individual. A Nutritional Therapy consultation will provide you with the tools to address your health concerns. You will be given a personalised, achievable healthy eating programme with recommended food choices that accommodate your tastes and lifestyle. Supplements and lifestyle changes may also be recommended to help harness your body’s natural powers to heal and repair itself.
Everyone has the potential to feel well and Nutritional Therapy can help you towards achieving that goal.
By taking into consideration the emotional as well as physical aspects of health, Nutritional Therapy identifies imbalances by addressing the underlying causes of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms.
Nutritional Therapy may help with most chronic health problems and is particularly beneficial for those suffering from hormonal problems, digestive issues, bloating, lack of energy, skin conditions and stress.
